Tanzanian Kilimanjaro

Good body, lively vibrant flavor and pleasant slightly floral aroma

The finest coffee of Tanzania is grown between 3500 and 6000 feet. Our Tanzanian is from Ruvuma, a district in the southern Tanzanian mountains known as the Livingstone Mountains. The sides of the valley are very steep and are cut into small terraces on which the coffee is grown. As is the case in most of East Africa, the best coffee is grown by smallholders, interspersed with their subsistence crops, on plots of land no more than 3 to 5 acres. The fresh mountain streams provide a constant source of clean water for the washing and fermentation of the coffee. Good rainfall and soil conditions combine with careful processing to produce a coffee with delicate acidity, good body and delightful aroma.
