Brazil Cerrado FC SS

$13.95 lb.

Our Brazil Cerrado is produced by farmers belonging to co-operatives in the Cerrado region within the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.  Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producer and the Cerrado region is the newest of the three major Brazilian growing regions but the area has been building reputation and production over the last few decades.

Cerrado refers to a frost-free highland savanna.  The weather patterns in the area are fairly mild which provides a more predictable climate for growing and processing coffee.  Coffees in the region are grown on high plateaus at elevations of 850 to 1000 meters in a clay mineral type of soil.  The coffee is processed in the full natural style with drying done in the sun and with mechanical driers.  This offering is Fine Cup (FC) and Strictly Soft (SS), the highest cup category in Brazilian coffee grading.

Subtle notes of chocolate and nuts along with a hint of fruit in the aroma.  Smooth body in the cup with nuances of cocoa and toasted nuts and slight hints of orange zest and cherry.
