Our Peruvian coffee is grown organically, and in the shade of a lush jungle canopy. Soil characteristics and climate conditions of Peru’s Andean mountains are excellent for the production of high quality coffee.  In addition to being Certified Organic, this Peruvian is certified Fair Trade.

This coffee is sourced from family owned farms organized around the Asociacion de Productores Cafetaleros de la Cuenca del Rio Maranon (APROCCURMA) operating in the providence of Rodriguez de Mendoza, Peru. Each producer cultivates two to three hectares of land with a diversity of crops including coffee. APROCCURMA provides training on organic management and environmental practices aimed at improving yields and quality to increase farmer earnings.

Coffees in this area are grown at 1600 meters in volcanic loam soil. They are processed fully washed and then dried in the sun. This is a pleasant, well balanced coffee with a smooth and creamy body.  The aroma has notes of cocoa and caramel that come through in the cup along with a subtle hint of fruit.
