Brazil Mantiqueira De Minas Santa Rosa
Our Brazil Mantiqueira De Minas Santa Rosa comes to us from Fazenda Santa Rosa. Located in Soledade de Minas within the Mantiqueira de Minas region, this area is a protected designation of origin (PDO) in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Samir Rage Matuck is the owner and manager of Fazenda Santa Rosa. He purchased the land in 1986 and worked hard to build the farm from the ground up. Coffee trees now cover more than 370 acres and the farm has great conditions for growing specialty coffee. High altitude, about 1,140 masl (relative for Brazil, most other coffee growing countries have much higher growing altitudes), and well draining clay mineral soil. Samir has also worked to minimize the farms environmental impact on the land through various processes. Water is recycled during the coffee processing, coffee pulp is used as fuel for the mechanical dryers, and the fertilizer used at the farm is organic. This crop is entirely Red Catuai variety and is processed full natural with drying done in the sun on paved patios.
Soft, sweet and interesting! Notes of milk chocolate, cherry soda and a hint of nutmeg in the aroma. Smooth, light body in the cup. Nuances of milk chocolate, candied fruit, caramel and cream.
