Golden Sprouting Buds
Golden leaf, exquisite flavor. An exceptional tea from the Yunnan region. Sweet and malty. Good hot or iced.
The “leaves” are actually single buds, which accounts for the golden coppery look. The wet buds are impressively robust and intact. The cup is light – medium in body, as one would expect from an all-bud tea. There is easily recognizable Yunnan character in the cup, but the taste is somewhat more refined than the bolder Yunnan FOP and OP teas. The finish is reminiscent of dried plums and raisins.
Recommendations: Use 1 heaping tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water to a rolling boil; steep for 3 minutes.
