Kenya Nyeri Othaya Gichichi
This special offering of Kenya Nyeri Othaya Gichichi is sourced from family owned farms located on the southeastern slopes of the Aberdares mountain ranges in Nyeri County, Kenya. Farmers in this area are members of the Othaya Farmers Co-operative Society.
Othaya Farmers Co-operative Society aims to be a leading producer of Kenya coffees. They help to secure better prices for farmers and empower them through value addition. Generally members cultivate about 250 coffee trees on half acre plots, intercropping with other productive trees like banana and macadamia. Once harvested, members bring their coffee cherries to the Gichichi Factory (one of the 17 wet mills the co-op manages) for processing.
Clean, sweet and full of bright flavors! The aroma is a symphony of fruit and floral notes. Complex int the cup with lots of citrus, apricot, sweet wildflowers, honey and chocolate. Syrupy, full body. Delightful!
