Peru Cajamarca Inprocafe
Throughout Peru the bulk of coffee production comes from small farms owned and operated by producers who follow organic farm management harmonious with their cultural connection to the land. Our current Peru Cajamarca INPROCAFE comes out of Jaén province, Cajamarca region, Peru.
Each producer cultivates their coffee crop individually on just a few acres of land. They intercrop with shade trees as well as bananas, corn and beans. Coffee cherries are carefully harvested and sorted before being depulped, fermented, washed and dried using their own micro-mills. While each producer has designed farm management and post-harvest solutions to fit their individual needs, they also have an alliance with Cooperativa Agraria De Servicios Multiples Integracion De Cafetaleros (INPROCAFE).
INPROCAFE has 800 smallholder farmer members throughout the Cajamarca region. While getting coffee to export and quality of product are high priorities for INPROCAFE, the group also offers assistance and programs to support the business and personal lives of the members. Everything from technical farm assistance, tackling certifications, and building infrastructure to helping improve living conditions, well-being, and sustainable development in the community. This crop is Certified Organic and Certified Fair Trade.
Delightful aroma with notes of cocoa, toffee, and orange. In the cup, the cocoa note follows through along with nuances of caramel, subtle peach and cherry, and just a hint of citrus. Smooth, medium body. Rich, well balanced, delicious.
