Our Ethiopia Guji 3 Natural is sourced from the Guji Coffee Export PLC in the Kercha district, Guji zone, Oromia region of Ethiopia. Girma Edema owns and operates this company and has over 20 years of experience exporting coffee out of this region.
The farmers that Girma works with deliver their ripe cherries to his washing station for processing and exportation. Cherries are sorted immediately upon delivery and then placed on raised beds to dry over a period of 15 to 20 days. The raised beds ensure proper air circulation and temperature control for an optimal drying process. The cherries are also turned regularly to prevent any damage occurring during the drying. Once the moisture is reduced to less than 12% the cherries are stored locally until they are transported to Addis Ababa for final milling and export. Because of Girma’s control over the entire process, the coffee is well preserved from any damage resulting in an exceptionally clean and sweet profile in the cup.
Fruit bomb! The aroma is full of berries, citrus, and pound cake. Rich, heavy body in the cup with notes of raspberry, cherry, and lemon along with hints of butterscotch, pound cake, and rosemary. Full and wild.
