Red Sea Blend

Description

The area around the Red Sea is home to indigenous coffee trees. There are several legendary accounts of the origin of the drink. One story involves a 9th century Ethiopian goathearder named Kaldi who noticed his goats frolicking about after eating the fruits of the coffee plant. Another account involves the Yemenite Sufi mystic Ghothul Akbar Nooruddin. When traveling in Ethiopia, the legend goes, he observed birds of unusual vitality and upon trying the berries that the birds had been eating, experienced the same vitality. The earliest credible evidence of coffee drinking appears in the 15th century Sufi monasteries of Yemen. Today The Kaffeeklatsch blends our Ethiopia Harrar with Ethiopia Sidama to produce a fantastic, aromatic coffee.
