May is here, the last month before the heat of summer truly sets in here in Huntsville and doesn’t leave until October. If you haven’t bought new sunscreen or an insulated tumbler, now is the time! As we bid a thankful goodbye to tornado weather and pollen-infused winds, here are more things to look forward to this month.
Coffee of the Month: Sumatra Takengon IKA Mandheling
This coffee has a rich aroma with classic Sumatra earthiness, dark chocolate, and a hint of cherry. Heavy but smooth body in the cup with nuances of earthiness, Dutch cocoa, and subtle hints of cherry and tropical fruit. This particular Sumatra is processed in a style called “Wet Hulling”. Tea of the Month: Keemun Maofeng Fancy
Often called the “Burgundy of Tea”, Keemuns are famous for their natural sweetness, low astringency, unique and complex aroma. Keemun Maofeng is harvested early and uses leafsets of two leaves and a bud. A complex and well-composed tea with an excellent body, this particular tea has a complex blend of sweet citrus and malty notes, with subtle oak undertones.
