Our Costa Rica West Valley Monte Crisol is sourced from farmers belonging to the Cooperativa de Caficultores y de Servicios Múltiples de Palmares (Coopepalmares) in the canton of Palmares, Alajuela province, Costa Rica.

Monte Crisol is a community blend exclusively exported to our awesome importer, born out of their decades long relationship with Coopepalmares. The cooperative is designed specifically to receive cherries from many small farms and consistently process the coffee into a well-balanced regional blend. They have a top-notch processing facility with certifications in quality and environmental management from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for their water recycling and furnace efficiency. Both water treatment and organic fertilizer production plants are located on site as well.

Coopepalmares was founded in 1962 with 80 small farm coffee producers. They now have over 1,400 producer members with at least 1,350 being small farm growers. The cooperative assists members in many ways, in business practices as well as personal life needs for growers and their families, all while maintaining respect for the environment. Coopepalmares is dedicated to the highest quality coffee production for their members so they may increase their quality of life.

A sweet and subtlety fruity aroma with hints of chocolate, butterscotch, and berry. Nice medium body with a creamy feel. Well balanced with nuances of milk chocolate, toasted marshmallow, caramel, strawberry, and gala apple.
