Gold Kuan Yin

Description

Gold Kuan Yin is grown from a hybrid of the renowned Ti Kuan Yin cultivar. Like Ti Kuan Yin, it is grown in Anxi, in the Fujian region of China, and has similarly rolled leaves. Its aroma has notes of lavender and honeysuckle. It is exceptionally smooth and sweet, with a soft mouth feel, notes of melon, citrus, and honey with a lightly floral and herbaceous finish.

Recommendations: Use 1 tsp. (or 2-3 grams) of leaves per 6 oz. of water; heat fresh water to about 195ºF (bring to rolling boil, then rest for 30 seconds before steeping); steep for 3 minutes.

Or: Use 1 gram of leaves per 1 ounce of water in a or gaiwan or small covered vessel; heat fresh water to about 195ºF; steep for 60 seconds. Add 30 seconds per extra steeping. Good for several infusions.
